Everything You Need to Know About the Adam Puchta Winery

Adam Puchta WineryWhen you visit Hermann, MO, you can expect to be enchanted by the area’s Old World Charm and intrigued by its German culture, an influence that is apparent in everything from food to wine. The latter is something this region is well known for, with more than 400 vineyards and 116 wineries in the state of Missouri. In fact, there are several lovely wineries within a very short driving distance of the Hermann Hill Vineyard & Spa, one of which is the picturesque Adam Puchta Winery.

When it comes to wine and history, Adam Puchta Winery has plenty of both. As one of the oldest family farm wineries in Missouri — and in the United States — Adam has been run by members of the same family since 1855. The winery sits on the banks of Frene Creek, providing a lovely setting for this award-winning establishment that has grown from a very small operation in the 1800s to one that produces 62,000 gallons (20,000 cases) of wine each year!

Sample the Wine at Adam Puchta Winery

Several wine tasting options are available for a small fee. Each tasting is led by knowledgeable tasting associates who not only describes each wine but also pairs the wines with a selection of snacks to further enhance your experience.

Featured Wine Tasting – You’ll not only sample up to 8 pre-selected award-winning wines, you’ll enjoy them with an assortment of crackers and gourmet straws.

Complete Wine Tasting – If you’d like to try a few more of Adam Puchta’s wines, you may want to opt for the Complete Wine Tasting, which features 16 of their award-winning selections.

Vintner’s Select Tasting – You’ll sample Adam Puchta’s premium and special release wines during this tasting including estate bottled Norton, sparkling wine, signature port and mead!

You can visit the winery and sample their offerings 7 days a week year-round (with the exception of several holidays). The wine tasting room doubles as a Gift Shop so it’s easy for you to pick up a bottle of wine, souvenir glasses or other wine accessories to take home as a reminder of your visit. The gift shop also stocks everything you would need to enjoy a picnic with a bottle of wine. Snacks and small bites include locally made cheeses, sausages, crackers and artisan chocolates to top it off! Pick up a few of these essentials and enjoy them at one of the picnic tables set amongst the landscaped grounds.

Adam Puchta’s summer hours (May through October) are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Winter hours (November through April) are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
